Jody Victor in Bonita Springs
Hello from the beautiful Hyatt Regency Coconut Point in Bonita Springs, Florida!
We’ve gone from New Zealand to Maui, Hawaii to Southwest Florida! Yesterday we stopped off at the Porsche dealership in Naples and we both drove the 2007 Porsche 911 Carrera S2 Cabriolet. It was a thrill taking it through the gears around the Naples back streets. Wow! What an incredible driving machine!!!
Today we joined our friends Jody and Gina Dutt for lunch and shopping at Tommy Bahama’s in Naples after viewing the most incredible car show that we’ve ever seen! Downtown Naples is really a beautiful spot for a car show with its mix of old world and modern architecture. It’s just a gorgeous city with lots of fabulous shopping, too!
This car show had over 100 Ferrari’s in every style – F430 Coupe, F430 Spider, F355 Spider, F328 GTS, F360 Coupe, F360 Spider, F456 GTA and the V-12 Enzo – Unbelievable!
Then there were row upon row of Lamborghini’s – all styles – Murcielago – Gallardo – coupes and spiders (spider is Italian for convertible). On top of that there were Bentley Continental GT’s – both the coupes and the convertibles. And there was a Rolls Royce Phantom!
Maserati was there with Gran Sport Coupes, Cambiocorsa Spyder and Coupe, and Quattroporta Sport GT – just gorgeous!
There were several Aston Martin Vanquish’s, Lotus Esprit, and a BMW Z8 Roadster – Wow!
And in addition to all those beautiful exotic cars there were hundreds of classic cars and good old American Muscle Cars – Corvettes – 57 Chevys – Chevy SS – Mustang Trick Pony – Mustang Boss GT 350 and many restored classic cars.
We stayed until it was over and watched and listened as they all started pulling away to take their cars home or back to car dealerships. There is nothing like the beautiful whine of the Ferrari and Lambo engines! Many owners showed-off and revved them up as they sped off. Of course, all those American muscle cars had those throaty sounding glasspack mufflers!!
But to top it all off, the owner of one of the exotic car dealerships asked Jody to help him drive a Ferrari 355 up the street to his store. Needless to say, Jody was flying high!
