Jody Finds The Coolest Small Towns

Take a leisurely stroll along the downtown streets of Egg Harbor, Wisconsin, and you will know why it is becoming a popular destination. There are enchanting galleries, shops and restaurants housed in tenderly restored historic buildings right next to newer structures that retain and enhance the village’s old Wisconsin charm.

If you love golfing, Egg Harbor has three new courses, including Door County’s largest course. There’s also horseback riding just minutes from downtown. And in July and August, Harbor View Park in the village center is the place to be for free concerts and children’s entertainment.

This is a village that loves festivals as much as it does visitors. The celebrations begin on January 1 with an offbeat New Year’s Day Parade, a refreshing small-twon antidote to the hyped version on television. Pumpkin Patch Festival on Columbus Day weekend occurs just as the fall colors approach their peak, and is one of the most popular of the county’s celebrations. Egg Hargor Holly Days on thanksgiving weekend is a living reminder of the way Christmas used to be with old-fashioned carols, a tree lighting and special events for kids and adults.

Egg Harbor is a great place for pampering accommodations, performing arts, renowned galleries and shops, golf courses, and wineries, all surrounded by a serene landscape.
